Learning To Be The Branch

I'd like to share what I have learned about "being the branch" while you watch me Bible journal a Fruit of the Spirit page digitally. I will provide you with a Bible Journal kit with the same elements so you can practice making a page digitally with a free program online.

Our job is to be the branch (John 5:15) and allow the vinedresser to ready us for harvest. We produce fruit of the Spirit by allowing Him to work in us which sometimes involves pruning. We have a tendency to conform our lives to duties we think He expects but many times they don't match what He is asking of us. Time with God, seeking him in prayer, and reading stories of how He has dealt with His people in the Bible helps us become confident in His love for us. It teaches us to relax into the reality of living loved and learning to walk in union with Him. Grapevines are never in a hurry. They know the harvest will arrive. When someone is too focused on overcoming sin or finding a meaningful ministry we can miss the most essential part of the journey, a relationship with our Father. Be the branch. Trust the Vinedresser.
